For the Weekend Warriors, Weirdos & Whackjobs - Issue #72
Always with these subtitles, they never relent
Never has a week been more quiet in Bullshit Hunting’s group chats. Everyone pulled in different, exciting directions, which means the genital jokes were at an all-time low. Though someone did crack a constipation joke, so—that was a relieving sign of life check.
This week, Kennedy explored the earnest unreliability of human sources in The Honest Lie. We explore the tricks our memories can play on us and how to navigate healthy skepticism in an investigation.

Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence
I’m a little late to this, but have to share. I turned on the first episode one Saturday before I had to get ready. I almost didn’t make it out that night.
In the fall of 2010, a group of sophomores at Sarah Lawrence College, a small liberal arts school, moved into a campus building. It was a laid-back college house with a dirty kitchen and a half-baked plan to dump sand in one room to make a beach. So it was odd when roommate Talia Ray invited her dad, Lawrence Ray, to crash on their couch after he was released from prison. He regaled the roommates with tales of his time in the marines and psy-ops for the CIA, and promised to help some maximize their potential.
Over the course of several months, he gained control over several of the young students.
It’s a fascinating and uncomfortable look at what can happen under the influence of manipulation and unreal coercion.
Until next time.
Much love,
Your Bullshit Hunting Crew
