How’re you livin’, laughin’, and lovin’, weirdos?
This week, Kennedy took a look at a problem we all witness across our alogrithims: pervasive belief systems—social and political—with no critical foundation. Explore the tension between truth and belief, and how investigators can still make the record matter with The Unprovable.
What Kennedy Recommends
I’d loosely followed the story of Sherri Papini when it first made headlines in a big way. I thought I knew most of what there was to know, and given the repulsion I felt toward those details, I didn’t think I needed to go any further.
Then, this came up in my recommended and I did it anyway.
If you don’t know, I won’t spoil it. I’ll just give you the pitch: Keith and Sherri Papini's seemingly idyllic family life is shattered when Sherri vanishes from their northern California neighbourhood, triggering a frenzied search that becomes news around the world. And it’s much more than it seems.
This is one of those stories that you peel back, layer by layer, to continuously find deeper levels of insidiousness. Three tidy episodes that will carry you through the afternoon of a grey day.
On Disney+ in Canada and Hulu in America.
Now, find the largest glass of your preferred fuzzy beverage, prop your feet up and take it easy. We’re sending you all a heap of good energy.
Much love,
