How’re ya’ll doing out there? If nothing else, we hope to raise the vibrations of your email inbox. Hopefully, it’s not too heavy of a lift.
This week,
presented another installment of Surveilling the State. This time, with open police records, detailing how one can use open records to shed light on patterns of domestic and intimate partner violence—a practice we’ve implemented in our volunteer work with The Oklahoma Appleseed Center for Law and Justice. What Kennedy Recommends
Central to my recommendation, for the second week in a row (unintentionally), is a slightly unhinged blonde woman from the midwest. It’s kind of a thing at Permanent Record Research/Bullshit Hunting, we’re fortunately and unfortunately attuned to the breadbasket of America.
If you’ve yet to watch or hear about Chimp Crazy, boy have I got your weekend sorted.
Former nurse-turned-exotic-animal-broker Tonia Haddix spends her days caring for animals in captivity, referring to herself as the "Dolly Parton of chimps." However, her limitless love for one chimpanzee spins into a wild cat-and-mouse game with authorities and an animal rights group.
Much like Kings of Tupelo, a recommendation we put up a few weeks ago, Chimp Crazy is full of a cast of characters so unreal it’s horrifyingly dazzling at every moment.
Check out wherever you’re able to stream HBO. Or don’t, I don’t tell you what to do.
Love,
The Bullshit Hunting Crew
