For the Weekend Warriors, Weirdos & Whackjobs - Issue #13
Toilet Timelining. Serial Killers. Forensic accounting. What next?
It was a busy week for the Permanent Record pirates, as always, with a myriad of advocacy cases, client work, products to test drive and a doozy of a video on building the Toilet Timeliner. Our paid subscribers also received the January 2024 Visual Round Up this week, a useful summary of all of the hard work we’ve put into BullshitHunting.com to date.
We hope you spend some time poking around the site and of course, our heart is always in our Advocacy page where we hope to have more updates for you very soon.
What Justin is Reading This Week
Data Sleuth by Leah Wietholter (Amazon affiliate link) - from my friend in Oklahoma, Leah, is one of the best forensic accountants I have encountered in my career. I had started this book when it first came out but due to life and other stuff and things, I had to put it down. Boy, I am so glad I picked it back up. Leah comes at the field of forensic accounting from a data-driven, methodical and systematic way that is extremely refreshing. This is not your grandma’s stuffy accounting book, y’all and it’s worthwhile for any investigator to pick it up, since we all have to have some idea of how to ‘follow the money’ at some point or another.
Thank you to everyone who has subscribed, sent words of encouragement this week and for reading all the way to here!
