For the Weekend Warriors, Weirdos & Whackjobs - Issue #28
Gagged juries, plane crashes and OSINT after dark. We hope you cleared your weekend schedule.
This week saw our intrepid anonymous attorney extraordinaire,
, release another instalment of The Hunt, diving even deeper into the gag order in Doug Mouser’s case and the troubling questions it leaves behind. Read Gag Me With a Spoon now, or as always, you can read the full list in the instalment from our Advocacy page.In one of our background-thread research projects, the Crash of Arrow Air Flight 1285R, Permanent Record Research received some documents from the Canadian government. We’ve published them here in our DocumentCloud so you can poke through them if you are into that kind of thing!
Come Get Dirty: OSINT After Dark
A fascinating chat with our very own
where he talks, sex, drugs, and dark web—there might even be some rock ‘n’ roll in there. Coca-Cola makes an appearance, but we already knew that much. Turn the lights down low, click play and enjoy! What Justin Watched
Dark/Web (2022) -Amazon Prime
I thoroughly enjoyed the premise behind this series, and no surprise that it was nominated for a handful of Emmys. While it follows many of the same dark web/hacker/thriller themes, it uses some very unique horror storytelling elements, twists, turns and a general mounting paranoia around the tech and apps we all carry. As a (former) hacker/cyber dude, I end up approaching any “hacking” or “dark web” series with caution, ready to be disappointed, but this one was no disappointment.
Thank you to everyone who has subscribed, sent words of encouragement this week and for reading all the way down here. We know that’s never an easy task on a Friday.
